How To Train Dogs

This four Module course has two main sections over four Modules to give you the key information all dog trainers need to know in order to train dogs effectively and efficiently using modern, positive methods.

Module 1 covers the foundations of training: what owners need to know, how to build that all important relationship, and how to teach a cue. We also talk about understanding the dog and how to help owners deal with the three big obstacles everyone faces when training.

Module 2 looks at look at how you can become a better (great) trainer. It looks at the three stages of learning, discusses the four key rules all great trainers follow and why great trainers strive for constant improvement.

Module 3 goes through eight methods that can be used to train any behaviour, where and when they can be used most effectively and how to choose which method to use in which situation.

Module 4 is all about how to gain your client’s agreement to any training plan and set them up for success – perhaps the most vital part of a dog trainer’s job! It concludes with a discussion about some real life issues and problems members were facing.
